Modern Warfare II: Activison Just Saved Me $59.99

It’s already been announced that Modern Warfare II is releasing on October 28, 2022. Between now, and the day of release of Modern Warfare II, you’re going to have speculations, hype and rumors. You already have people data mining trying to find out what’s going to be in Modern Warfare ll. Below, it’s a sample of what I’m talking about and I want to brake it apart. Nothing stated below is concrete and is all based on assumptions. Activision nor Infinity Ward has confirmed no denied.

Reading about speculations, rumors, is fun but I never get on the hype train. Some insider information come true and others just disappear into the unknown. What got me interested in this “rumor”, it’s not far fetched at all. Too dive into it, it seems that Modern Warfare II is going to have multiple versions, Standard Edition, a Cross-Gen Edition and a Vault Edition. My guess is that for those that want cross platform to play with those PS, Xbox and PC, you’ll have to buy the Cross-Gen Bundle, why split it this way? I have no idea.

If you preorder the Cross Gen Bundle, you’ll be eligible for early access open BETA on PlayStation 4 and 5. More details will emerge in the coming days, weeks, month leading up to day of release. There’s no mention of price points for each of the editions. The standard edition would run at $59.99 on Battlenet and PS4, that’s my guess. I don’t know if the prices points would be different for PS5 and Xbox Series S/X

With the Standard Edition, if you pre order, you’ll have early access to the open beta, plus any pre-order burnouses is applicable. Any and all pre-order bonuses will be announced in the coming month as we get closer to the release date. Even if you don’t pre-order any version, there’s always an open beta for everyone to try out.

The Vault Edition Bonus Content , I’m guessing is going to be the most expensive. The Vault Edition is going to have the following: (Remember, take everything with a pinch of salt), a premium Battle Pass that will contain a 50 tier skip, Red Team 141 Operators Pack – Ghost, Soap, Price, Farah’s Operators, FJX Cinder Weapon Vault, Ten Hours of 2XP plus ten hours of weapon XP, Instantly available for Modern Warfare II and Warzone. I’m not sure if that means you’ll be able to carry over anything from Warzone to Warzone 2 or MW2. Lastly, a Ghost Legacy Pack which includes, 12 Operator Skins and ten Weapon Blue Prints.

With the Vault Edition, you get VIP experience, I’m assuming you’ll get more XP versus someone that does not have VIP. With all three editions, however, you’ll have early accesses open BATA.

It’s a Never Ending War Between Gamers and Game Developers

Again, take everything from above with a pinch of salt. Nothing is edged in stone until Infinity Ward comes out with more and actual details. But the above is not far fetched. I wrote a blog on My Impressions on Call of Duty Vanguard and how most everything is locked behind either a Battle Pass or a Paywall. No matter how many times we say it, it goes out one ear and out the other. It’s like a constant war between gamers and developers. For the last several years, we’ve said how much we hate Skill Based Match Making, Disbanding Lobbies after every match, over priced cosmetics and etc.

No matter how we say it, how loud we say it, it’s implemented every years regardless of the rage. Yet, we still get pump over a new Call of Duty game with the hope of not having to deal with an over price macrotransaction Store (yes, Macro, nothing “Micro” about the prices), a stupid Battle Pass, Disbanding Lobbies and Skill Based Match Making. The upcoming Modern Warfare II is going to have everything we hate and don’t want. If it’s true that you can pay to skip 50 tiers, then imagine how slow it’s going to be to level up that Battle Pass. My question is, what the point in playing if you can outright just buy everything? Everything is going got be locked behind a moronic battle pass and a paywall.

VIP’s Over None VIP’s

Lastly, VIP? I’m guessing they’re introducing a new VIP system in which VIP players will level up quicker versus those that are not VIP. Hence, the grind is increased for those that are not VIP. Am I wrong? How about if someone buys the Modern Warfare II Standard Edition and chooses not to buy the Battle Pass or buy anything from the over priced store? For example, myself. I would never spend one red cent for a Battle Pass or and any cosmetic with an over price tag attached to it on a full retail game of $59.99! What do we grind for then, the very basics?

Skill Based Match Making & Disbanding Lobbies

SBMM is a type of system we all hate to one degree or another. Older Call of Duty Games never had it. It was never needed and no one complained. If you didn’t want to be in a lobby you just leave after the match was over. Or, you can choose to stay It’s that simple. It was a social event, if you think about it. I’ve made friends, carry on a conversation, when the match is over, we all end up back in the lobby, we all vote on a random map. That’s it. It’s not a hard concept to understand. it’s a players choice. Well, it use to be.

Today, lobbies are broken up and you get thrown around like a used up rag doll, you end up in lobbies you don’t want to be in, matches take forever because it’s looking for players to “match” your so-called “skill set”, you up and rage quit because the game you were placed in is poison and not fun, now you have to search and wait for a game, it’s the most annoying thing anyone can go through. Why put players through this crap if the majority hate it? Seriously, no one cares for this and it’s a massive turn off.

Activison Just Saved me 100% on Modern Warfare II

When it comes to Call of Duty, I’m more focused on the multiplayer aspect. If all the above is going to be implemented in Modern Warfare II multiplayer, and I’m not saying that it is, but, if it is implemented, then why am I going to sit there put my self through the agony and frustration just to play the same modes, TDM, DOM, Hardpoint, and other modes that I can play on any other older Call of Duty game? The way I see it, sure, I can buy MW2 but I refuse to buy a moronic Battle Pass and I could care less for a Macrotranstaction Store with over priced cosmetics that should be earned in-game as you level up and prestige and earn through challenges.

All in all, I’ll play the open public BETA when it becomes available. Then I’ll write up another blog based on my experience with Modern Warfare II. Until then, If the above is false, and no stupid Battle Pass, no Macrotrasction Store with over price cosmetics will be added it, SBMM removed, no more disbanding lobbies, then yes, it’s a first day purchase for me. However, if the above is true, I’ll be skipping this year Call of Duty, again. Hence, Activision just saved me $59.99 on Modern Warfare II. So, Thank you!
