One Warzone is Enough

When I decided to opt for writing articles on games, my intent was and still is to write from a gamers point of view. When it comes to Call of Duty games, I love the sheer fact that it’s an arcade shooter. I love playing Team Death Match, Domination, Hard Point, and other modes on occasions. I love that not only I can level up my character to level 55, but choose to prestige until max cap. I love the fact that Call of Duty games are also fast pace, well, in some cases. I find it cool that Call of Duty have put me in a different era when it comes to conflicts. Be it World War II, Modern Day War or just going on a black ops mission to take down some drug lord or any combination there off. All three, Treyarch Studios, Infinity Ward and Sledge Hammer Games bring there own flavor of Call of Duty.

With the introduction of Warzone Battle Royale in 2020, I thought it was pretty to see how developers would create a Battle Royal with Call of Duty flavor as oppose to games like PubG, Fortnite and Apex Legends. In Warzone, you can run solo, choose to run duos if you have a friend to run with. You can also run in trios (3), or even quads (4). There’s currently two maps in War Zone, Verdansk ’84 and Rebirth Island. Warzone has the potential to grow and to be it’s own game with it’s own identity separate from your standard Call of Duty games

The Developers can not only continue adding updates and refining Ware Zone to be at it’s peak, also, new maps can be added to Warzone as a rotation. For example, ten maps raging in medium to large size can be added to Warzone. Weather conditions could be added, such as thunderstorms, snow blizzards, earth quakes, a 24 hours day and night cycle at 8X times the speed, having players adapt to ever changing conditions. Night Vision Goggles can be equipped, grappling hooks to transverse across high rises. Special Weekend Events can be added to change up the pace.

The above idea is just to keep everything fresh and fun. To add conditions, new objectives, critical situations, new maps, or anything that would be creative with-in a Battle Royal mode. Maps are big enough to bring in creative idea that can spice up War Zone. In truth, War Zone can be it’s own stand alone I.P.. Warzone does not have to be a clone of any other battle royal. Instead, War Zone should have it’s own identity and separate itself from other Battle Royal games while still maintaining the Call of Duty feel we’ve all grown to love.

The Upcoming Call of Duty Modern Warfare will introduce War Zone 2, a second Battle Royal apart form the first. This would just separate the player base and fuel anger amongst the player base . Furthermore, if you bought a battle pass, and anything from the in-games store, as of today, it will not transfer over to Warzone 2, from my understanding. Will this change between now and day of release? It’s not known yet. However, I do have to ask, why War Zone 2? In my opinion, One Warzone is enough.
